Hypermobile people have a natural advantage in flexibility activities. But, as hypermobile people age, they need to work more on strength and coordination. Stabilizing joints and preventing injury is so important to aging well. Pilates improves balance and proprioception which reduces falls in older adults!

This program is designed for those with a Joint Hypermobility Syndrome, either EDS or HSD. If you are not sure if you have either of these conditions and/or suspect you might, you are welcome to join!
This program is designed to be a foundational course in the practice of Pilates concepts. Pilates can be progressed or regressed to meet your needs. It will make your other fitness endeavors more enjoyable because of this strong foundation. And you can always count on a setback from time to time, so keep it in your back pocket!
The program includes flare up options and can help you manage those times. It is yours for life an you can always press pause and come back when you're ready!
Nope! But, it might be a good idea to let them know you are trying a new exercise program that is hypermobile joint-friendly! Nothing about the program in inherently risky.
Nope! There are props used in the program to add to the experience but they are not necessary. Most participants have done PT in the past and may have bands, light dumbbells or balls.
As a Physical Therapist, Pilates Instructor and hypermobile human, I know the difficulties of trying to get stronger and avoid injury. I work with patients with EDS and hypermobility everyday.
